Job Summary
Mid-level Traffic Engineer role focusing on MOT, signing, and pavement markings for interstates/highways. Lead design tasks, prepare studies and construction plans, coordinate with clients and multi-disciplinary teams, mentor staff, and apply DOT standards using Bentley/AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools. Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and PE licensure, with 4–8 years of traffic engineering design experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
- 4-8 years of experience in traffic engineering design with a focus on signing and MOT
- Experience with Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, SignCAD
- Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, Vistro, and/or Vissim preferred
- Experience in roadway design is preferred
- Experience with DOT’s plan preparation procedures and standards
- Experience and understanding of local, regional, state, and federal design criteria
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Interpersonal and customer service skills
- Self-motivated with solid organizational skills
- Ability to interact with clients and multi-disciplinary teams
- Desire for professional growth
