Job Summary
Directs and coordinates motor, rail, and internal transportation activities while negotiating freight rate schedules and carrier contracts. Quotes freight rates to Sales, Brokers, and Purchasing, audits driver logs, and maintains strict DOT files. Prepares trip reports, payroll data, and performance reviews to optimize fleet profitability and safety. Schedules delivery appointments, solicits external trucking business, and develops the organization through coaching and leadership. Enforces compliance with administrative policies, safety rules, and government regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Business Administration of Logistics
- minimum of five years experience in the Traffic/Transportation field and inventory control
- knowledgeable of DOT rules and regulations
- familiar with state rules and regulations affecting company vehicles
- at least 2-3 years of management experience
