Traffic Desk Support

Job Summary
Manage delivery exceptions, late deliveries, and failed shipments by communicating updates across departments and recording reasons in the Transport Management System. Monitor traffic desk communications via mobile, email, and WhatsApp to handle customer enquiries and ETA requests. Support the Traffic Desk Coordinator with daily operations, assist drivers at the desk, and conduct debriefs for returning drivers. Complete checks and sign-off procedures for trailer inspection sheets, scan and upload Proof of Delivery documents, and maintain accurate transport records and reports. Work Mon-Fri on a rotating schedule, with occasional Saturday and Bank Holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including telephone, email, written, and face-to-face communication
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to overcome challenges and prioritise workload
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Mon - Fri on a rota. Week 1 - 7am - 4pm. Week 2 - 9am - 6pm
- 1 in 7 Saturdays, 8am - 2pm
- 1 in 3 Bank Holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience within a transport, logistics, customer service, or administrative environment
- Experience using transport management systems (TMS)
- Understanding of transport operations and delivery processes
