Job Summary
Install and repair traffic signals, intersections, streetlights, and street signs while performing preventative maintenance to prevent malfunctions. Troubleshoot traffic signal failures by observing causes, running diagnostics, and restoring proper operation. Clean components, replace parts, and document inventory during daily activities. Work under supervision in field locations and workshops, using hand tools and adhering to safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- Driver's license (Must be able to acquire a Class B CDL within the first six months of employment)
- Coursework in Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) fundamentals, and other related electrical/electronic courses (e.g., digital electronic fundamentals, troubleshooting techniques, industrial electronics, computer hardware repair)
- Work experience reading and interpreting electrical or electronic schematics and blueprints
- Work experience in electrical and electronics troubleshooting (e.g., working with voltages of 120v to 480v, using a multimeter, working with electricity and electrical circuits)
- Moderate physical exertion required for occasional prolonged periods of lifting, carrying, balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Occasional lifting of items or objects weighing up to 50 lbs
