Traffic Control Apprentice- Portland, ME

Traffic Control Apprentice position in Portland, ME responsible for maintaining traffic flow around construction zones, setting up/maintaining/removing temporary work zones, and communicating with drivers to ensure safe traffic movement. Responsibilities include using handheld signs, paddles, or flags; coordinating with supervisors via radios; adhering to safety protocols and PPE; assisting with loading/unloading equipment; and performing other duties as assigned. Requires being able to stand for extended periods, pass a drug screen, have a valid driver’s license, and be available full-time. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ATSSA flagger certification provided at orientation; no prior experience required but traffic-control experience is a plus; outdoor environment with travel to different work sites; accurate, clear communication and a team-oriented attitude are essential.
