Job Summary
Traffic Control Apprentice handles the flow of traffic around construction zones and incidents, using handheld signs, paddles, or flags; sets up and maintains temporary work zones with signs and barriers; communicates with drivers to ensure safe traffic flow; coordinates with supervisors using radios or hand signals; adheres to safety protocols and PPE; supports loading/unloading traffic-control equipment and performs related duties. Requires 18+ age, valid driver’s license, ability to stand 8+ hours, willingness to undergo drug screening, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Position offers $20/hour with both part-time and full-time opportunities; outdoor, outdoor-work environments and travel to different sites are common. Training/certifications are provided by the company; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Able to stand for 8+ hours
- Willing to submit a drug screen
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Traffic control/Flagger Certification provided by the company
- Experience: No prior experience required; traffic control experience preferred
