Job Summary
Maintain traffic flow around construction zones, maintenance projects, and accidents using handheld signs, paddles, or flags. Set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones with signs, barricades, and cones per project requirements. Communicate clearly with drivers and monitor activity to anticipate safety hazards. Coordinate with supervisors via hand signals or radios. Adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements. Warn workers of approaching vehicles that fail to heed signals. Assist with loading and unloading equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Requires valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and work in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Be 20 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
- Must have a valid driver's license AND also reliable transportation
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Willing to learn and follow safety procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Traffic control/ Flagger Certification (Provided by the company)
- No prior experience required; traffic control experience preferred
- Being a Team Player
- Understand and apply safe traffic control practices, sometimes in stressful situations
- Ability to receive and communicate instructions clearly, firmly and courteously
- Strong attention to detail and focus
- Keep a reliable and professional demeanor at all times
- Able to stand for extended periods (8+ hours) while maintaining focus
