Job Summary
Process traffic and transport service requests and relevant permits while providing technical advice and preparing high-quality reports for complex, sensitive, and multidisciplinary projects. Prepare plans using AutoCAD to issue instructions for traffic signage and line marking, then deliver innovative solutions aligned with Council strategies and legislation. Represent the Council in key forums such as the Transport Forum and community sessions, communicating technical information clearly to staff, stakeholders, and the community. Integrate traffic and transport considerations with planning, urban design, environmental, heritage, social, and economic objectives while identifying and supporting new projects in collaboration with internal teams. This role supports the City of Parramatta's 2050 strategy to build a connected, creative, and sustainable city. The position is a term contract full-time opportunity up to May 2027, offering a salary of $108,795.03 to $119,781.85 plus 12% superannuation.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in traffic or civil engineering
- Class C Driver's License
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interpret and translate technical information for stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proven experience delivering effective and innovative traffic and transport outcomes, ideally within or in partnership with the public sector
- Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident in Australia
- Must be available for hybrid working conditions
- Must be available for flexi-time scheme
- Must be available for additional leave over the Christmas period
- Must be subject to random drug and alcohol testing
- Must undergo a criminal history check
