Job Summary
Deliver a 10-session after-school enrichment course in traditional visual arts, focusing on core fundamentals (line, shape, color, composition) and progressing toward more refined drawing and painting skills. Facilitate hands-on projects, differentiate instruction to support varied skill levels, maintain a safe inclusive studio environment, and communicate professionally with site staff regarding attendance and session completion. Plan and adapt pacing to meet student needs across grade bands, guide portfolio development, and foster idea development, critique routines, and reflective practice.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed)
- Experience with traditional visual art techniques (drawing, painting, and/or mixed media)
- Experience working with school-age students in structured settings (school, camp, after-school, tutoring, youth programs)
- Strong facilitation skills, classroom presence, and clear communication
- Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow school policies and program boundaries
- Comfort managing materials and supporting students through multi-step creative processes
