Traditional Art Instructor (Part Time, After School, In-Person)

Deliver a 10-session after-school Traditional Art course on-site at a partner school. Teach traditional visual art fundamentals (line, shape, color, value, texture, space, composition) and progress to drawing and painting skills, with potential for mixed media exploration. Focus on developmentally appropriate instruction across grade bands, with pacing adapted to student needs. Responsibilities include modeling techniques, scaffolding projects, maintaining a safe, inclusive studio environment, differentiating instruction for varying skill levels, helping students develop original work with iterative improvements, and communicating attendance and session completion to site staff. Portfolio development and presentation of artwork, along with opportunities for peer critique and reflection, are included. Required qualifications emphasize experience with traditional art techniques, school-age settings, strong facilitation and professional conduct; minimum college credits or associate degree in progress. Roles include delivering a 1-hour session weekly for a 10-week cycle with clear objectives and site coordination.
