Job Summary
Traditional Art Instructor to deliver a 10-session after-school course on-site at a Brooklyn partner school. Teach traditional visual art techniques beginning with fundamental concepts (line, shape, color, composition) and progressing to drawing, painting, and mixed media; differentiate instruction to meet varying skill levels; maintain a safe, inclusive studio environment; communicate attendance and session completion with site staff. Role requires a minimum of 60 college credits or an Associate degree, and prior experience with school-age students and art techniques. The program runs one hour per week for ten weeks, after school, on-site in Brooklyn, United States.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed)
- Experience with traditional visual art techniques (drawing, painting, and/or mixed media)
- Experience working with school-age students in structured settings (school, camp, after-school, tutoring, youth programs)
- Strong facilitation skills, classroom presence, and clear communication
- Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow school policies and program boundaries
- Comfort managing materials and supporting students through multi-step creative processes
