Job Summary
Trading Systems Developer for a contract role seeking to design, build, and validate custom technical indicators and automated buy/sell signals for TradingView (Pine Script). You will prototype indicator ideas, stress-test against historical data, and refine through backtesting, collaborating with traders and education teams to translate market methodologies into testable code. Responsibilities include backtesting across asset classes and timeframes, documenting performance metrics (win rate, risk/reward, drawdown, edge statistics), and integrating AI-powered tooling and data feeds to improve signal quality. Proficiency in Pine Script is required, with Python as a preferred language; experience with AI tools and ML applications to quantitative trading is highly valued. This is an independent contractor/1099 engagement with no employee benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Pine Script proficiency with TradingView
- Strong background in technical analysis and active trading
- Hands-on experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) applied to research, code generation, or market analysis
- Proficiency in Python (strongly preferred) or another quantitative-trading language
- Deep understanding of backtesting methodology (walk-forward testing, parameter sensitivity, avoiding look-ahead bias)
- Ability to work independently and deliver on a contract basis
