Trading Systems Analyst

Job Summary

Monitor and analyze assigned trading workflows, system outputs, exceptions, and operational metrics to identify issues, trends, and improvement opportunities. Investigate production incidents by gathering data, tracing workflows, and documenting root cause and business impact. Translate Trading and operational needs into clear business requirements, process flows, user stories, and functional documentation. Analyze and maintain assigned business configurations for trading applications, including business rules, workflows, reference data, and permissions. Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and regression scenarios for system, configuration, integration, and workflow changes. Participate in User Acceptance Testing, release readiness, production validation, and post-implementation stabilization. Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and data analyses that measure process stability, operational efficiency, and control effectiveness. Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering throughout the solution lifecycle to ensure delivered capabilities align with trading workflows and production operating requirements. Track issues, enhancements, risks, and dependencies through resolution, providing timely updates and escalating material concerns when appropriate. Support operational controls and governance practices that promote reliable, compliant, and scalable use of trading technology.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment management, wealth management, portfolio trading, trading operations, or investment technology
  • exposure to trading systems and workflows
  • Practical understanding of the trading lifecycle, including order generation, rebalancing, execution, allocation, and post-trade processing
  • Experience working with order management systems (OMS), execution management systems (EMS), rebalancing platforms, portfolio accounting systems, or related investment technology
  • Ability to translate business needs and production issues into functional requirements, workflow documentation, test scenarios, and actionable recommendations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and perform structured root cause analysis
  • Experience supporting system configurations, business rules, reference data, integrations, or other operational components of enterprise applications
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, defect documentation, production validation, and release support
  • Proficiency with Excel and experience using SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable reporting and analytics tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow issues through resolution
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain system behavior and analysis to business and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently on defined assignments and collaborate effectively across teams without direct management authority
  • Knowledge of investment operations, operational risk, controls, and regulatory considerations within an investment management or wealth management environment
