Job Summary
Lead and develop bp's Trading Operations bench within ST&S RPTE, ensuring smooth, compliant operations across front office and supporting functions. Build technical and operational capability, train new joiners, and foster knowledge sharing while managing incidents, risk, and continuous improvement initiatives. Interface with Tax, Commodity Risk, and other support functions; drive delivery of trading strategy, operational excellence, and governance through weekly technical meetings, KPI reporting, and collaboration with bench leadership. Emphasize strong leadership, stakeholder management, and the integration of digital projects to maximize value and uphold bp’s risk and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Strong skill in oil trading operations (cargo and/or barges)
- Proven track record in operational experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills including ability to motivate a team
- Strong team player and negotiation skills
- Willingness to speak up and engage with front office and support functions
- Ability to understand and manage risk, compliance, HSSE and shipping requirements related to operations
- Proven ability to build relationships in front office environments and with external counterparties
- Strategic mindset with ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement
- Experience delivering value through trading operations and digital initiatives
