Job Summary
Own real-time supervision of automated trading strategies and related operations, focusing on markets most relevant to XTX. Use internal tools, dashboards, and automated workflows to monitor, diagnose, and optimize engine performance while maintaining a healthy scepticism of automated outputs. Respond decisively to market events, venue issues, and internal anomalies to safeguard firm and client capital, translating complex operational signals into high-impact decisions that prevent losses. Provide precise, evidence-based feedback to quantitative research and trading technology teams to turn live-market observations into useful improvements. Partner with researchers and engineers to enhance monitoring and control tools, ensuring clear handovers and post-event notes compound over time. Cover relevant APAC market hours, including scheduled shift work and occasional weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience on a highly automated trading desk
- Experience in electronic market making
- Experience in trading operations
- Experience in risk
- Experience in market structure
- Experience in another high-accountability operational environment
- A strong academic background in a quantitative discipline
- Functional proficiency with Python
- Functional proficiency with Pandas
- Functional proficiency with SQL
- Experience making decisions from incomplete or noisy data in a fast-moving environment
- A track record of being exceptionally conscientious and reliable
- A desire to optimize processes over time
- Knowledge of FX markets
- Knowledge of equities markets
- Knowledge of futures markets
- Knowledge of commodities markets
