Job Summary
Trading Assistant at Point72 Hong Kong to manage intra- and end-of-day trade recaps and bookings, support industry and company-specific research, monitor markets and synthesize relevant news, flows, and headlines into concise updates for portfolio managers, traders, and analysts, consolidate and distribute broker flows and market intelligence to the investment team, and partner closely with the trading desk to provide day-to-day operational and analytical support, enabling efficient desk operations. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, 1-3 years of equities trading/execution support/trade operations experience, practical knowledge of equity markets and the order lifecycle, experience with order and trade processing systems, advanced spreadsheet skills, strong analytical and communication abilities in English and Cantonese/Mandarin, and willingness to work extended hours while upholding high ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline
- Minimum 1-3 years of professional experience in equities trading, execution support, or trade operations on an equities desk
- Practical knowledge of equity markets, the order lifecycle, execution venues, and basic equity derivatives
- Proven experience entering and monitoring orders and managing post-trade processes including trade affirmation, allocation, and settlement reconciliation
- Proficiency with spreadsheet analysis including advanced formulas and pivot tables
- Experience using order and execution management platforms and trade booking systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to investigate trade discrepancies under time pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin for day-to-day desk communications in Hong Kong
- Ability to work extended hours when markets require, manage competing priorities, and collaborate across trading, operations, risk, and compliance teams
