Job Summary
Perform major repairs and maintenance on hotel rooms, kitchen/refrigeration equipment, HVAC, ventilation, and water treatment systems to ensure quality and safety standards. Replenish inventory, coordinate with other departments, and respond promptly to guest requests or complaints. Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations while reporting unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to a supervisor. May educate staff on proper equipment use and conduct preventative maintenance duties. Requires advanced vocational training, two years of experience in building maintenance, and ability to lift items up to 300 pounds. May work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced vocational training
- Two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction
- Professional certification and license if required by law
- Ability to carry, lift, push and/or pull items weighing up to 100-300 pounds
- Ability to frequently stand up and move about the facility
- Ability to frequently handle objects and equipment to maintain the facility
- Ability to frequently bend, stooping, kneeling, climbing and crawling
- Specialized knowledge and skills or certification within a field or discipline such as plumbing, electrician, carpentry, equipment mechanics, HVAC, refrigeration
- Communication skills
- Reading and writing abilities
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
