Job Summary

Assist investors in investment idea generation and implementation across Americas markets, assessing market risks and costs while adhering to external and internal regulations. Partner with senior management on strategic initiatives and provide backup support for department oversight functions, including content creation, syndication, and execution technologies. Mentor Fidelity staff to ensure service consistency and foster team culture while developing key industry relationships with counterparties and technology providers. Implement credit and equity cash, synthetic, and derivative order flows, consult portfolio managers on optimal strategies, and introduce new instrument opportunities. Lead scheduled investment team calls to provide cross-asset market intelligence on regulatory impacts, macro forces, and positioning dynamics, minimizing operational risk through continuous process examination.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in equities and fixed income trading
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the investment industry, ideally supporting a team of investment professionals
  • relevant multi-asset trading experience specific to Canadian, US and Latam markets
  • ability to utilize algorithmic technologies and industry platforms to execute investors cash and derivative order flows
  • ability to manage relationships, effectively negotiate with industry participants on behalf of the firm
  • ability to develop, action, and oversee best execution processes relevant to varying market conditions
  • ability to assess relative value within country and sector opportunities
  • strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a keen interest in the investment process
  • credibility, communication skills and professional presence to Mentor Fidelity staff and interact effectively with investment professionals at all levels
  • ability to manage department priorities, work under pressure, and demonstrate a commitment to Fidelity
  • Position is located in our Toronto Ontario, Canada office
  • You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule
