Job Summary
Trade Journeyman Mechanic based in Campbell River, BC, repairing and maintaining Mainroad’s fleet of road maintenance equipment (including graders, loaders, pickups, tandem highway trucks, backhoes). Responsibilities include completing various repairs, and recording/reporting documentation for items requiring repair or maintenance. Qualifications include B.C. Certification of Qualification or Interprovincial Ticket as Heavy-Duty/Truck & Transport Mechanic, and valid class 5 with air brake endorsement (class 3 preferred). Welding and highway/municipal equipment experience are assets. Requires strong teamwork, safety awareness, ability to work overtime, and capability to perform heavy physical duties.
Required Qualifications
- B.C. Certificate of Qualification, and/or Interprovincial Ticket as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic Commercial Transport, or Truck & Transport Mechanic is required
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with air brake endorsement is required
- Valid class 3 driver's license is preferred
- Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) Inspection Certification is an asset
- Minimum of 3 (three) years’ experience as a Mechanic is an asset
