Job Summary
Manage subcontractor crews and supervise exterior piping and underground civil work scopes, including setting storm boxes, water mains, and utility tunnels. Lead and monitor safety procedures, coordinate inspections, and document punch lists while reading plans and specifications. Create and achieve crew production goals through Lean principles like daily stand-ups and pull planning, control costs via production units, and manage supplier deliveries. Maintain proper tool care, track labor hours, and participate in job hazard analysis and site meetings. Work non-traditional hours in varying conditions, with a career path to Superintendent 1.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years commercial construction experience
- 2+ years field supervision experience
- Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds
- Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs
- Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
- Communication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate)
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources
- Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy
- Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity
- Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
- Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management
- Knowledge of layout skill (Intermediate)
- Knowledge of crane flagging and rigging (Intermediate)
- Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications
- Ability to assess and optimize project productivity
- Ability to lead crews and achieve production goals
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical degree in related field (Preferred)
