Job Summary
Trade Desk Associate I at Interactive Brokers in Chicago (hybrid: 4 days in office, 1 day remote) joins the Trade Issues team to investigate and resolve a broad range of client inquiries related to margin, trade cancellations, order triggers, and other trade-related topics. The role requires familiarity with proprietary trading platforms, cross-functional collaboration with Programming, Clearing, Compliance, and other service groups, and the ability to analyze systems and contribute to process improvements. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in finance or a business field, 1–3 years of relevant brokerage/trading experience, strong knowledge of financial markets and trading products (equities, options, futures, futures on options, fixed income, mutual funds, FX, CFDs), advanced PC skills, a problem-solving mindset, and a willingness to pursue FINRA SIE and Series 7 certification. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance or a business-related discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in brokerage, trading, exchange, or clearinghouse (early-career)
- Strong understanding of financial markets, margin methodologies, execution platforms, and exchange operations/regulations
- Experience with equities, options, futures, options on futures, fixed income, mutual funds, FX, CFDs, etc.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- FINRA SIE and Series 7 or interest in obtaining such certifications
- Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
