Job Summary
Manage import and export shipments by maintaining product classification for full trade compliance and timely customs clearance. Oversee transportation-related import and export documentation while staying current on trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions. Support cross-border transactions for shipments into and out of the United States and Mexico by collaborating with internal teams, customs brokers, and freight forwarders. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant cross-border transactions through meticulous record-keeping and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of customs or trade compliance experience
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Proficiency in HTS classification, country of origin determination, and valuation
- Experience with USMCA and Free Trade Agreements
- Knowledge of U.S. and Mexico customs documentation and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage import/export documentation and maintain compliance records
Desired Qualifications
- Customs broker license
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
- Experience with ACE Portal reporting and entry summary audits
- Familiarity with Mexico customs documentation (Pedimentos) and IMMEX/maquiladora processes
- Experience with duty drawback claims and audit preparation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail with a compliance-first mindset
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and external stakeholders
- Process improvement orientation and audit readiness
