Job Summary
Oversee all administrative aspects of export compliance and shipping, ensuring timely shipments and 100% on-time delivery while maintaining accurate customs entries and clearance instructions. Manage a small team of two Customs Analysts and a Logistics Co-ordinator, including daily workload prioritization and annual performance reviews. Ensure correct end-user paperwork, licence applications, and software export controls are in place before goods leave the facility. Maintain standard operating procedures for import/export activities, including post-entry review, HTS classification, and sanctions compliance, while identifying and mitigating potential regulatory risks. Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring all records meet HMRC regulations and Teledyne Corporate policy. This 100% site-based role at Teledyne Valeport in Totnes supports the company's end-to-end manufacturing of oceanographic and hydrographic instruments for global markets.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge & recent experience of UK customs regulations for import and export compliance, policies, documentation and processes including Inward Processing Relief (IPR) and export clearance
- Detailed knowledge of HTS and HMRC Customs Procedure Codes
- Good understanding of export controls as they apply to general commercial product lines
- Knowledge of UK Government export licensing and application processes
- Ability to supervise a small team including daily workload, priority setting and annual performance reviews
- High attention to accuracy
- Flexibility to support other team members as required
- Willing to work for the best interests of the business
- Maintain the highest standard of personal conduct in performing all duties
- Communicates honestly, openly, and consistently

Desired Qualifications
