Job Summary
Manage day-to-day U.S. import operations for fluid power components, reviewing entries, Importer Security Filings, and Post-Summary Corrections to ensure accuracy and CBP compliance. Determine Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications, validate USMCA certifications of origin, and calculate duties and landed costs while identifying savings opportunities. Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, Purchasing, and Logistics to resolve clearance holds and maintain centralized, audit-ready databases. Track regulatory changes and document compliance procedures to support internal reviews and CBP inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on U.S. import / customs compliance experience
- Demonstrated ability to classify products under the HTS and determine applicable duties and tariffs
- Working knowledge of USMCA rules of origin and certification-of-origin requirements
- Solid understanding of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) import regulations, entry processes, and recordkeeping requirements (19 CFR)
- Strong attention to detail and comfort managing entry documentation, records, and audit trails
- Clear written and verbal communication with brokers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requests, and meet filing and audit deadlines
- Extreme Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Comfort working in an ERP system (HYDAC uses SAP)
- Ability to work in trade-compliance / global trade management (GTM) systems and CBP's ACE portal
- Microsoft Office — Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience importing industrial, hydraulic, or fluid power components, or working in a manufacturing environment
- Progress toward or completion of a U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) credential
- Familiarity with duty-savings programs — Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZ), duty drawback, First Sale for Export, or classification rulings
- Hands-on experience with CBP's ACE portal and post-entry processes
- Exposure to export controls (EAR / ITAR) and dual-use screening
- Bilingual English and Spanish
