Trade Assistant - Solar and Battery (Labourer / Roofer)

Job Summary
Assist with rooftop and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage system installations by measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and modules. Operate and maintain small plant and equipment, including hand and power tools, while performing general labouring duties such as yard work and ground works. Follow safe work practices, complete timesheets and documentation, and participate in training, skills assessments, and on-the-job learning. Report incidents, accidents, and near misses within required timeframes and assist with site inductions for new team members or subcontractors. Work efficiently as part of a small team under limited supervision with flexibility to travel and stay overnight.
Required Qualifications
- White Card (National WHS Construction Induction Training)
- Working at Heights certificate (RIIWHS204E)
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Ability to work safely at heights and in outdoor environments
- Basic written, verbal, and numeracy skills, with the ability to accurately record information
- Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision
- Strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental practices
- Flexibility to work varied hours based on operational demands
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight outside metropolitan areas if required
- Customer‐focused approach with a positive attitude
- Basic knowledge of electrical safety procedures
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour in demanding environmental conditions
