Tractor Trailer Driver

Job Summary
Operate a tractor trailer to haul waste, recyclables, and leachate to disposal sites, recycling plants, or customer locations. Routinely enter and exit the truck multiple times daily, conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and complete DVIR logs. Visually inspect load securement, maintain cab cleanliness, and update route and driver log sheets. Professionally interact with internal and external customers while utilizing an app to log bale counts and stops. Pick up bales from the ground using a skid steer and ramps to load them into 53ft van trailers, and operate heavy equipment or roll-off trucks as needed. Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and overtime, continuously driving in changing weather and traffic conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand a map
- Excellent truck driving/maneuvering skills
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training
- Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
- General knowledge of truck mechanics
- 2 years CDL truck driving experience preferred
- A valid Class A CDL is required (Tanker Endorsement preferred)
- Experience on a skid steer preferred
- Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
- Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
- Ability to travel between offices, as required
- Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license (if applicable)
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
- Must be able to read and speak the English language
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years CDL truck driving experience preferred
- Waste industry experience, a plus
- A valid Class A CDL is required (Tanker Endorsement preferred)
- Experience on a skid steer preferred
