Job Summary
As a local Tractor Trailer Driver (CDL-A) at Sun Services, operate tractor-trailer units to transport materials within designated local routes, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Perform pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip inspections, secure loads to prevent damage, maintain accurate records of hours, inspections, and deliveries, and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers. Maintain the vehicle in good working order, adhere to DOT regulations, and contribute to a safe, efficient supply chain in a DC-area waste management context.
Required Qualifications
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- DOT Medical Certificate
- 3+ years of on-the-road experience
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass physical DOT exam and drug test
- Experience operating tractor-trailer in local delivery/hauling roles
- Knowledge of FMCSA safety regulations
- Ability to work weekends as needed
