Job Summary
Drive gasoline or diesel-powered tractors to move materials, tow trailers, and pull heavy equipment. Fasten attachments like graders, plows, and backhoes, then adjust and lubricate machinery while performing minor repairs. Operate commercial vehicles including zero-turn mowers, skid loaders, and snow plows to maintain grounds and road medians. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as filter replacements, fluid changes, and blade sharpening. Complete daily inspection sheets and follow established safety policies. Work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules including weekends and holidays in varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to start
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training
- Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent
- Valid state driver's license with a minimum of one-year successful experience safely driving industrial or commercial tractors
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Ability to follow basic operating instructions
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completions of assigned tasks
- Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented
- Must have knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test, criminal record check, and motor vehicle check
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE
