Job Summary
Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers, performing brake adjustments, tire replacements, electrical troubleshooting, and structural repairs while adhering to DOT, federal, and state regulations. Conduct annual and systematic 90-day inspections on equipment to ensure compliance with Federal FHWA standards. Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility and shop as needed. Identify parts and supplies, use welding equipment, and properly annotate all maintenance and labor in management software. Clean, organize, and maintain the work environment while identifying, using, and disposing of hazardous waste in accordance with OSHA and environmental policies. Requires at least one year of experience with diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Full-time position Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess at least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of equipment theory, principles and repair relating to diesel engines, air, and electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Must possess at least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent vocational school required.
- At least 1 year related experience required.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to fit into a 20" cargo trailer dome opening.
- Able to meet safety standards for fall protection harness – max weight 310 lbs. (includes all PPE worn)
- Ability to see differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
