Job Summary
Civil Inspector for Rails/Tracks to join our freight facilities operations team in Ruwais. You will conduct comprehensive inspections of railway tracks and rail infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications, including inspection of track construction activities, alignment, gauge, cant, earthworks, concrete works, welding (thermite welding and track joints), ITPs, NCRs, QA/QC documentation, and coordination with engineers, contractors, and client representatives.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in civil construction inspection, with a strong focus on rail track works, track installation, and associated structural components
- Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in rail, metro, or heavy transportation systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of railway construction specifications, approved drawings, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) related to track works
- Strong understanding of track alignment, ballast placement and compaction, rail fastening systems, and concrete works associated with track infrastructure
- Familiarity with rail material quality control procedures, including inspection of rails, sleepers, ballast, sub-ballast, and related components
- Proficiency in preparing and maintaining inspection reports, material approvals, and non-conformance documentation (NCRs)
- Excellent command of written and spoken English for effective site communication and reporting
- In-person onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
