Job Summary
Track Maintenance Team member (Welder) at BNSF Railway in Ada, OK. Responsibilities include constructing, inspecting, and repairing tracks and other railroad assets, welding, grinding, and cutting rail in a safety-sensitive environment; operate trucks over 26K+ lb, maintain equipment, and keep records/timesheets. Requires travel to job sites, residency within the hired district (or within 50 miles), on-call and overtime shifts, and compliance with safety policies. Must hold or be able to obtain a Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement, pass FRA Tier II qualification, and meet English-language requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with test endorsements for combination vehicle, air brake, and HAZMAT or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment
- Able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs occasionally
- Able to work long hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Residency within the district or within 50 miles of designated BNSF depot
- Welding, grinding, and cutting rail following BSF welding procedures
- Travel to job sites for extended periods as required
- Union membership with BMWE and adherence to union agreement
- Pre-employment background verification, medical review and drug screen
