Job Summary
Track Laborer will inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient service. Responsibilities include inspecting, loading/unloading, distribution and installation of rail components; inspecting and repairing rail and track components; servicing track turnouts, switches, and infrastructure; maintenance of road crossings, bridges, and related structures; cutting vegetation; removing snow and debris; reading safety and maintenance documents; adhering to safety rules and regulations; and operating equipment such as a backhoe or track hoe. Requires proficiency with gauges, schematics, and maintenance manuals, and completion of required safety and training courses. Must possess a valid driver’s license; Class A CDL is preferred. Requires high school diploma or GED; on-the-job training and Watco University programs support career development and advancement.

- Must be able to pass and/or obtain all training courses and certifications listed (Track Ground School, FRA General Code of Operating Rules written test, Roadway Worker Protection written test, Fall Protection written test, Maintenance of Way safety written test, MSHA/OSHA training and certification if required on site)
- Education: High School or GED equivalent
