Job Summary
Track Laborer responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining railroad track infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient service. Duties include inspecting, loading and unloading rail components, inspecting and repairing track turnouts and switches, maintaining track surfaces, road crossings, bridges, and related facilities; operating equipment such as backhoe and track hoe; reading gauges and maintenance manuals; complying with safety and regulatory rules; training through Watco University with on-the-job training and potential career advancement. Starting pay rate is $23.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Class A CDL preferred
- Track Ground School
- Federal Railroad Administration General Code of Operating Rules written test
- Roadway Worker Protection written test
- Fall Protection written test
- Maintenance of Way safety written test
- MSHA/OSHA training and certification (if required on site)
- High School or GED equivalent
