Track Laborer

Job Summary
As a Track Laborer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing railroad infrastructure. This physically active role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, utilizing tools and equipment such as hydraulic and hand tools. Responsibilities include complying with safety regulations, repairing and rebuilding track, inspecting tools for defects, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to instructions from certified trainers or supervisors. The position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to read and interpret safety documents, and a commitment to safety in a dynamic work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
- Valid driver’s license
- At least eighteen years of age
- Pre-employment physical, hearing, and vision medical review
- Subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing including pre-employment drug screening
- Background screening including criminal and motor vehicle driving history
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of equipment such as torches, hammers, jacks, and other mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools
- Skilled in routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Experience with heavy hand tools and outdoor work
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus or willingness to obtain if required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Must live within 50 miles of assigned location or be willing to relocate
