Job Summary
Track Laborer responsible for maintaining and repairing right-of-way and constructing/dismantling tracks. Must operate track machinery safely, perform on-track inspections, unload ballast and track materials, monitor track surface and alignment, replace or repair switches, and ensure compliance with FRA and railroad rules. Requires heavy labor, ability to work in a team, and adherence to safety procedures; position involves varied shifts including nights and weekends. Residency to Flint, MI within 45-minute commute with potential relocation within 90 days. Education: High School Diploma or GED; CDL license or ability to obtain one; 18+ years old; valid driver's license. Prior railroad or heavy equipment experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license
- CDL license and/or ability to fulfill and maintain a CDL license
- Related track maintenance experience preferred
- Residency restriction within 45 minute commute to Flint, MI
- Willingness to relocate within 90 days of hire
- Experience operating track machinery and equipment
- Ability to perform physical labor and work various shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
