Job Summary
Track Hoe Equipment Operator at Scrap Management of Oklahoma responsible for expert, safe operation of heavy equipment to move, organize, stack, load and unload scrap materials. Duties include operating equipment in accordance with safety policies, inspecting and maintaining equipment, monitoring production machinery (e.g., track excavator with shear, wheel loaders, balers, shears), reporting defects, cross-training in other positions, maintaining a clean and safe worksite, following supervisor instructions, and identifying and sorting scrap metal commodities. Requires adherence to OSHA safety standards, ability to work under deadlines, and ability to interpret written and oral instructions. Optional English proficiency; bilingual a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience operating heavy equipment
- Expert knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles
- Ability to adhere to scheduled hours with dependability and consistency
- Ability to adapt to a constantly changing landscape
- Ability to work well under the pressure of meeting demands and deadlines
- Excellent professional presence and work ethic
- Must be able to identify scrap metal commodities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- Ability to operate equipment under varying working conditions
- Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations
- English (preferred); Bilingual a plus
