Job Summary
Design and implement tracheostomy education and training for nurses, respiratory therapists, and staff. Identify and prioritize adult tracheostomy patients for discharge planning, assessing individual and family education needs while serving as an expert resource for clinical teams. Develop, plan, and evaluate compliance with in-services in collaboration with Otolaryngology and the Office of Nursing Quality. Regularly evaluate training needs to improve staff competence and patient care quality. Serves on at least one nursing council, hospital committee, or task force to enhance patient care. Requires a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing or Respiratory Care, valid RN or RT license, and BLS certification. Full-time, day shift, hourly pay.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Associate's degree in Respiratory Care
- Valid RN or RT License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Knowledge
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of tracheostomy care, procedures, and protocols
- Strong presentation and training abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Proficient in computer systems, tools, and programs
- Capable of effectively collaborating in a team environment
- Occasional travelling to offsite locations
