Job Summary

Toxicologist role supporting NAMSA’s medical device materials safety focus. Responsibilities include participating in client meetings, defining project scope for proposals, identifying opportunities to expand MRO services, and preparing risk assessments and evaluation reports in compliance with ISO 10993-1/17 and ISO 14971 for FDA and regulatory submissions. Responsibilities also cover evaluating biocompatibility data to ensure regulatory compliance, understanding FDA/EU medical device regulations, conducting literature searches, providing technical support to lab staff, advising clients on technical issues related to biocompatibility and material characterization, developing Biological Safety project proposals, performing biocompatibility gap analyses, and coordinating data collection across NAMSA entities. The candidate should have strong technical writing skills and experience in proposals and communications with clients. A Master’s or Doctorate degree (or equivalent) with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, and DABT certification are required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s or Doctorate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience; DABT Certification Required; Knowledge of Microsoft Word; strong written document skills
