Job Summary
Support the development and delivery of town planning and consenting strategies for major infrastructure projects across the UK. Prepare, review, and submit consent applications including Development Consent Orders, Transport and Works Act Orders, and Town and Country Planning Act applications. Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure efficient delivery and manage programme activities, risk identification, and reporting. Build trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies while assisting with public consultation and stakeholder engagement. Provide planning advice across sectors such as rail, energy, and renewable infrastructure, preparing documentation for examinations and contributing to business development. This role sits within the Infrastructure Division's Consents team, focusing on delivering complex Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience for Planner
- 4+ years for Senior Planner
- essential experience of town planning processes
- experience of town planning legislation and regulations (Town and Country Planning Act)
- experience of assessing sites for planning constraints
- identifying risks and opportunities
- preparing and submitting various types of applications and submissions
- ability to build trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams
