Towles | 5hr Montessori Classroom Assistant Grades 1-3 | Intermediate

Provide instructional support to a certificated teacher in a Montessori classroom for grades 1-3, assisting with small group and one-on-one instruction, sitting on the floor with students, and reinforcing lesson objectives. Duties include clerical tasks (typing, duplicating, filing), grading and recording student work, supervising student behavior and safety, assisting with lesson plans, monitoring reading and spelling progress, preparing and setting up learning areas, and reading to students to support literacy. The role requires ability to motivate students, maintain health and safety standards, and support teachers in delivering district-model instructions using Montessori materials. Must have a high school diploma or GED; Para Pro results or transcripts may be requested at interview; prior Montessori experience preferred. Probationary period applies; physical requirements include frequent standing, sitting on the floor, and assisting with students, including lifting or assisting students as needed.
