Job Summary
Tower Technician responsible for safe, high-quality telecom tower installations and maintenance. Duties include rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, load hopping, and installing antennas, RRUs, cabling, and associated hardware; perform grounding, terminations, fastening, and antioxidant use; follow piping diagrams and wiring schematics; assist with testing, labeling, documentation, and weatherproofing. Must read construction drawings, mounting specs, and testing procedures; able to work independently under limited supervision; provide white-glove customer service. OSHA 10hr certification is a plus; able to meet ANSI Z359 fall-protection requirements; able to climb towers up to 400 feet; must be 18+ with a valid driver's license. Willingness to travel, outdoor work in all weather, and long or unpredictable hours are required. Travel compensation and comprehensive benefits are offered.
Required Qualifications
- Read and understand construction drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, etc.
- Willing to work independently under limited supervision
- Provide communication and customer service that is white-glove
- Current OSHA 10hr certification is a plus
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements set forth in ANSI Z359 for fall protection gear
- Must be at least 18 years old, have a valid drivers license
- Physical Demands: pass pre-employment screening that includes background, drug testing and MVR
- Must be able to climb and perform work at various heights, up to 400 feet, for long periods of time
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to pull his/her own body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedly for long periods of time
- Must be willing to travel out of market/state, for up to several months at a time
- Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather
