Job Summary
Conduct routine maintenance, install antennas, and troubleshoot repairs on cell phone towers while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Perform site audits, manage project budgets, and assist in constructing support infrastructure from the ground up. Provide troubleshooting and support for integration tasks, collect close-out documentation, and mentor junior Tower Technicians I. Substitute for Tower Technician III when necessary. Requires RF Awareness, CPR/FIRST AID, and OSHA 10 certifications, plus the ability to travel 3–6 weeks away from home. Must possess advanced hand/power tool skills and climb towers in inclement weather.
Required Qualifications
- 3 months cell site construction experience installing various carriers
- Must be RF Awareness, CPR/FIRST AID, OSHA 10, Rigging, Comtrain (or equivalent) certified
- Must be able to travel away from home for 3 - 6 weeks at a time
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Must have hand tools, including impact drill, full climbing gear, boots, and work clothes
- Must be able to climb and work on the towers, poles, buildings (no fear of heights)
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 70 pounds
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully
- Must be able to work in inclement weather (snow, rain, heat, high winds, etc.), long hours and variety of shifts (including night work)
- Must be able to pass ongoing drug screen testing
- Ability to work with advanced hand/power tools, testing equipment, alignment tools
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard best practices
- Basic computer skills
