Job Summary
Conduct routine maintenance, install antennas, and troubleshoot repairs on cell phone towers while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Perform site audits, manage project time allotments against budgets, and successfully install telecom equipment with minimal supervision. Mentor and train Tower Technician I staff, and substitute for Tower Technician III as needed. Collect close-out package information and identify safety hazards. Requires RF Awareness, CPR/FIRST AID, and OSHA 10 certifications; ability to travel 3-6 weeks at a time and work in inclement weather.
Required Qualifications
- 3 months cell site construction experience installing various carriers
- RF Awareness certification
- CPR/FIRST AID certification
- OSHA 10 certification
- Rigging certification
- Comtrain certification or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to work with advanced hand/power tools, testing equipment, alignment tools
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard best practices
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to climb and work on the towers, poles, buildings (no fear of heights)
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 70 pounds
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully
- Must be able to work in inclement weather (snow, rain, heat, high winds, etc.), long hours and variety of shifts (including night work)
- Must be able to pass ongoing drug screen testing
- Must have hand tools, including impact drill, full climbing gear, boots, and work clothes
- Must be able to travel away from home for 3 - 6 weeks at a time
