Job Summary
Tower Technician climbs and works on communications towers up to 500 feet to install, test, and maintain cellular network components (coax, radios, fiber, antennas), and to perform maintenance using hand or power tools. The role involves operating survey/testing equipment (sweeps, PIM, fiber, microwave), transporting equipment via utility trucks and trailers, working despite varied weather, and adhering to safety standards. Frequent travel across the U.S., evening/weekend/rotational/on-call hours, and support to the foreman are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- vocational training or certification in civil construction or telecommunications preferred
- Background check (MVR)
- Ability to pass a drug test and pre-employment physical
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Willingness to travel and work weekends
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Excellent teamwork abilities
- Willingness to travel extensively
- On-the-job training available
