Job Summary
Complete maintenance on transmission towers throughout the upper North Island, including climbing, waterblasting, abrasive blasting, painting, replacing bolts and steel members, and installing earth plates. Follow all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems while holding outage permits and adhering to specifications. Apply earths to isolated and earthed conductors and undertake required training for working at heights. This role requires at least three years of related experience in tower maintenance, painting, or linesman duties, with a current NZ Driver's license. Based in Palmerston North with mandatory project work across New Zealand, the position offers a full-time, permanent role at $30.00–$40.00 per hour with a minimum of 40 weekly hours. Cake Commercial Services provides extensive on-the-job training and supports individuals in gaining a Level 4 qualification.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of related work experience
- Experience undertaking tower maintenance, painting or linesman duties
- Experience in industrial painting and including blasting
- Current NZ Driver's license or ability to readily obtain one
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and routine random testing
- Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing in English
- Physically fit
