Job Summary
Confirm coverage and evaluate auto total loss claims from inception to settlement by obtaining appraisals, repair estimates, and market comparables. Analyze accumulated data to determine coverage, extent of loss, and reserve amounts, then settle claims within authority limits by issuing payments and obtaining liability releases. Investigate major losses and complex claims personally or with specialists, while reviewing open files and adjusting reserves as needed. Travel to county offices and storm teams to assist with catastrophe losses, and handle all lines of insurance claims within the assigned territory as required. This role involves working unscheduled hours with some travel in a non-remote environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- two to four years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- participation in continuing education program(s) such as participation in the AIC or INS courses through home study and sitting for the national exams
- Valid Oklahoma driver's license
- Satisfactory driving record
- Obtainment of adjuster license

- Ability to manage stress due to high volumes of work, long hours, and dealing with discontented insureds and/or third parties

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
