Job Summary
Conduct client-centered care by assisting Registered Nurses and therapists with leisure activities, daily living skills, and established nursing programs. Administer nursing procedures such as suppositories, enemas, and vital signs monitoring while supporting personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding. Observe and report client progress, participate in unit discussions, and accompany clients on group outings. Requires Grade 12 and Resident Care Attendant Program graduation plus two years of recreational or rehabilitative experience, effective communication, and physical ability to perform duties. Internal applications accepted late; candidates must complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12
- graduation from a recognized Resident Care Attendant Program
- 2 years' recent recreational/rehabilitative experience
- equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to teach
