Job Summary
Torque Controls Engineer responsible for optimizing, troubleshooting, and improving torque-controlled assembly processes in a discrete manufacturing environment. Focused on torque tooling, controls integration, traceability systems, and data-driven improvements. Responsibilities include evaluating and improving torque-controlled assembly processes, troubleshooting torque tooling and communication issues, analyzing torque data and process capability, supporting integration and optimization of torque systems with MES/SCADA/PLC controls, collaborating with operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, and IT teams, validating torque strategies and fastening specifications, enhancing data collection and traceability for critical fastening operations, delivering practical recommendations to improve throughput, quality, reliability, and process consistency, and supporting corrective actions and sustainable improvements on-site for ~3 weeks with potential extension up to 6-12 months.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering, controls engineering, or assembly engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with industrial torque tooling systems
- Strong understanding of torque control methodologies, fastening processes, and assembly quality requirements
- Experience troubleshooting torque communication and controls issues
- Familiarity with MES, production data collection, and traceability systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
