Job Summary
Engage in academic activities with selected students one-on-one or in small groups, helping them learn, review content, explain problem-solving steps, and check for understanding. Guide students in developing study skills and organization techniques to improve academic performance while consistently maintaining professional communication with supervisors, staff, teachers, and school administration. Report relevant information to the project manager and district on time, participate in required training, and utilize effective tutoring techniques to promote independent learning. Serve as a role model, display enthusiasm for the subject matter, and ensure a safe, organized learning environment adhering to workplace safety guidelines. Complete paperwork timely and interface effectively with all levels of staff.
Required Qualifications
- Enrollment status in at least 6 units per term/semester at a 2-year or 4-year institution
- College graduate with a Bachelor's degree
- Minimum grade point average (G.P.A) of 2.75
- Passionate and knowledgeable in the content area
- Must have access to reliable transportation to consistently arrive at the worksite at the scheduled time
- Must pass a criminal background check (Live-Scan fingerprinting) and Background prior to beginning employment with children
- Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) prior to beginning employment dated within 60 days
- Pass diagnostic exam (75% or higher)
- Must be a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act

- Ability to interface and interact with all levels of staff (administrators, teachers, and students)
- Self-motivated, responsible, and professional attitude at all times
