Job Summary
Work with the Lead Hand and foreman to determine work planning and flow, establish grade for water, storm, and sanitary pipe, and cut and bevel pipe. Rig and assist with supplying materials to the ditch while maintaining high communication with ditch crew and operators to ensure safety, quality, and timing. Complete site documentation as required and participate in inspections and incidents to address deficiencies through corrective actions. Hourly wage is $35-$42 with a signing bonus available. CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 certifications are required; underground utility rehabilitation experience is an asset. This role supports Firma Contracting's underground and water & sewer projects in Edmonton, offering work-life balance and potential for winter work due to rehabilitation project focus.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of Top Man experience
- Ability to read blueprints and grade sheets
- Ability to use an eye level with geodetic capabilities
- Safety conscious
- Strong understanding of pipe installation process and flow logistics
- Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms
- Organized and always one step ahead of the ditch
- Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman
- Able to support other positions as needed
- Strong communication skills – provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail
- Ability to mentor workers for advancement
- Consistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for duty

- Confined Space is an asset
